making spaces better for people

New York in January with the International Society of the Performing Arts (and friends)

Rebecca Singh blog lo res

It’s become tradition. Every January I pack up and head to New York to have my brain stuffed full of new and better ideas for the year ahead. This year? No different. OK Maybe a little colder. I always come home feeling a sense of duty to share what I find with you so please check out my notes from ISPA here: I go to APAP too (they are doing more and more on the international front which is so great to see) and Globalfest. Under the Radar, Coil, Winterjazz, the list goes on and the world gets smaller and smaller. Enjoy!

Notes from the field

Theatre Local attended the New York congress of the International Society for the Performing Arts this past January. I just posted my notes from the sessions here. Another inspirational year! -Rebecca

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has—Margaret Mead

Communities are increasingly important sources of social change. This group exhibition explores how artists of all disciplines can work with, or within them to creatively address issues important to all. From visual art to performance, this show reflects on the specific conditions which let them intersect and the possibilities that arise at such a juncture.
